“I am not a gangster. I have never been in trouble with the law. I have only ever seen a gun on an armed security or police officer. I have never held a gun in my life, much less fired one at police officers. I have never had a friend, family member or partner introduce a gun into my environment.”
So said Kaia Sealy yesterday following the issuance of arrest warrants by police in connection with the fatal shooting of her common-law husband, Joshua Samaroo, during an incident on January 20, 2026, in which she was severely injured.
The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service issued a release on Thursday, four months after the incident, stating that Sealy is wanted on three counts of shooting with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, as well as manslaughter, in connection with the shooting that left Samaroo dead.
