A NATIONWIDE lockdown of all prisons has been ordered by acting Prisons Commissioner Carlos Corraspe following receipt of sensitive information in the last 24 hours.

All prison visits with detainees have also been suspended till further notice.

“I acted today(yesterday) independently of what occurred on Saturday. It is a precautionary approach based on what is before us. Once the matter is thoroughly investigated by the police and we are satisfied things can return to normal,” Corraspe told the Express yesterday.
