Several charges of harassment have been laid against a 16-year-old boy after alleged cyber-related bomb threats and threatening messages against students and staff of the Rio Claro East Secondary School.
The charges were laid following advice received from Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions, Anju Bhola on Friday.
Following the reports of bomb threats and threatening messages, between November 2025 and February 2026, received via SMS and TikTok accounts operating under several aliases, officers of the Eastern Division conducted extensive investigations with the assistance of personnel of the Cyber and Social Media Unit (CSMU), under the supervision of Snr Supt Paponette, Insp Jargoo and Sgt (Ag) Denoon, with overall oversight by DCP ‘Intelligence and Investigations’, Natasha George.
