Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar said Trinidad and Tobago’s alliance with US President Donald Trump’s Americas Counter Cartel Coalition will strengthen the country’s fight against guns and drugs.
In a statement to the Parliament on Friday, Persad-Bissessar reported on her visit to the United States, where she attended the historic Shield of the Americas Summit in Doral, Florida, on Trump's invitation.
She said she stands to be corrected but it was the first time in 50 years that a sitting Trinidad and Tobago Prime Minister had been invited by a US President to attend a meeting in the United States.
