A joint security raid at the Maximum Security Prison in Arouca on the night of Tuesday, led to the seizure of multiple mobile devices and the discovery of key intelligence linked to threats against senior law enforcement personnel.
The operation was prompted by a circulating voice note on social media threatening top officials. The targeted exercise, conducted between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m., was led by Commissioner of Police Allister Guevarro and Commissioner of Prisons Carlos Corraspe. It was coordinated by Deputy Commissioner of Police for Intelligence and Investigations, Suzette Martin, and Assistant Commissioner of Prisons, Lee Davis.
Officers from several units, including the TTPS’ Northern Division CID, North Central Division Task Force (Area East), Crime Scene Investigators, and specialist intelligence teams, searched several cells. They recovered cell phones, accessories, cigarette packages, cannabis, and handwritten notes, which are now under analysis.
