Two-time winner Neil Corbin is now the sole leader of the Barbados Rally Club (BRC) Driver’s Championship following a major reshuffle of the standings after rounds four to six of the nine-round series.
The championship picture was significantly altered after the First Citizens King of the Hill event on May 24 and the BCIC RB26 rally held from May 29–31, where reliability issues and mechanical failures played a decisive role.
Corbin had entered the decisive stretch of the season tied at the top with Edward Corbin and Antigua’s Stewart Gordon. That changed dramatically after Edward Corbin suffered a blown engine, while Gordon’s challenge unraveled through a series of setbacks. Both drivers, along with several others, have now dropped out of the overall top 10.
