The director of a foreign used car dealership has been charged with fraudulent conversion of funds and is expected to appear before the courts.
According to a police media release on Friday, the 55-year-old man from Satnarine Trace, Chin Chin Road, Cunupia, was charged on Tuesday.
In January 2020, the victim paid a total of TT $112,000 to purchase a Nissan Caravan, which was to be outfitted for the victim’s disabled father. The victim was promised delivery of the vehicle, but it was never provided. To date, the accused has failed to deliver the vehicle as promised. Despite repeated attempts by the victim to secure a refund, all efforts were unsuccessful.
