New champions will be crowned when the St George North Grassroots Football Festival grand finale takes place at the Glebe Playing Field on Saturday. The championship match and third-place playoff will headline the final day of action, while the event will also see the crowning of this year’s Go-Kart champion.
St George Youth Commissioner KeyĂşn Walcott said the initiative, organised in partnership with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and the Youth Development Programme, represents more than just football.
“It represents our commitment to investing in young people while strengthening our communities and creating positive opportunities through sport,” he said. “We firmly believe that when our youth are given the opportunities and support, they develop not only as athletes but as disciplined and responsible citizens.” He said over the past several weeks they have witnessed tremendous talent from every team that has participated, while the response from the community has been overwhelming and has shown how powerful sports can be in bringing people together.
