The Trinidad and To­ba­go Prison Ser­vice says an in­mate was dis­cov­ered miss­ing from his cell at the Car­rera Con­vict Prison at about 8.32 p.m. on Fri­day No­vem­ber 14, 2025, dur­ing rou­tine checks.

Or­di­nary Pris­on­er Ja­mal Joseph is serv­ing a five-year sen­tence with hard labour for “Lar­ce­ny of a Mo­tor Ve­hi­cle.” He was ex­pect­ed to be re­leased in Oc­to­ber 2028.

The Prison Ser­vice has ac­ti­vat­ed its emer­gency re­sponse pro­to­cols, and na­tion­al se­cu­ri­ty agen­cies — in­clud­ing the Trinidad and To­ba­go Po­lice Ser­vice, the Trinidad and To­ba­go De­fence Force, and the Op­er­a­tional Com­mand Cen­tre — have been no­ti­fied and are work­ing to lo­cate and ap­pre­hend him.
