A woman was taken into custody after officers of the Western Division recovered more than TT$1.8 million in cash during a morning operation in Maraval on Wednesday.
The operation, conducted between 4 a.m. and 8 a.m., involved the West End/Maraval Criminal Investigations Department, the West End Police Station, the Western Division Task Force, the WD Gang and Intelligence Unit, the Inter-Agency Task Force, and the Canine Unit.
Police searched the home of a man at Moka, Maraval, where they discovered a safe room behind shelves in a walk-in closet. Inside a Honeywell safe, officers found TT$1,853,600 and $837 Barbadian currency, which was photographed, secured, and counted with assistance from the Financial Investigations Bureau.
