Apprentice jockey Shaheem Gordon marked his return to competitive racing with a win on Saturday, May 23, guiding Himaya to a last-stride victory in the fourth race at Caymanas Park.
It was Gordon’s first ride back after a six-week break following a fall from Get A Pepsi in the 10th race on Easter Monday, April 6, 2026.
The spill left him with a concussion and a short hospital stay. He returned with five rides on the day, with the win aboard the Jason DaCosta-trained Himaya coming in ride number one.
