A routine visit to a city-centre restaurant ended with a 76-year-old retiree being hospitalised after being robbed in Port of Spain on Saturday afternoon.
Police reported that the man, from East Dry River, was standing inside a food outlet along Charlotte Street at around 1.50 p.m. on December 20 when he was approached by two men unknown to him.
According to investigators, one of the men held on to the retiree, forced him to the ground, and took a Samsung Galaxy mobile phone that was on a nearby counter. The second man stood nearby during the incident.
