Pistol, six live rounds found at Tucville wash bay

(Kaieteur News) – Police have arrested a 25-year-old Tucville man after a suspected .32 pistol and six matching live rounds of ammunition were reportedly found at a wash bay on Jackson Street, Tucville, Georgetown.

The firearm and ammunition were discovered around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday during a police operation, based on information received. According to police, ranks went to the wash bay and contacted the 25-year-old self-employed man before conducting a search of the structure in his presence.

During the search, ranks reportedly found a suspected .32 pistol and a magazine containing six matching live rounds in the drawer of a table. The man, who police said is not the holder of a firearm licence, was arrested. He was taken to the East La Penitence Police Station along with the suspected firearm and ammunition, which were subsequently lodged.
