(Kaieteur News) – Guyanese-born beauty queen Netu Lal made history in Canada on July 25, 2026, when she was crowned Miss Eco International Canada 2026 in Surrey, British Columbia, becoming the first Guyanese-born woman to hold the title.
The milestone adds to an already remarkable year for Lal, who was also crowned Miss Toronto 2026. But beyond the titles, her journey is rooted in advocacy, community, and purpose.
Lal is the founder of Beyond The Lens, a mental health advocacy initiative focused on creating spaces for healing, creativity, and meaningful conversations. Her dedication to community work has also been recognised through a recent Canada Legacy Award for her contributions to the community.
