The Chesney, Corentyne, Berbice native has earned a loyal following through her Queens-based L&S Boutique, where she creates custom Indian attire for weddings, religious ceremonies and other special occasions.
While her designs are worn by clients across the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, Narain says a significant portion of her work is made for customers in Guyana, where families regularly turn to her for bespoke garments that celebrate their heritage.
“Guyana will always be home,” Narain said. “Being able to design for people there means everything to me because I’m creating for the community that helped shape who I am.”
