The Education Ministry said staff and students of the St Francois Girls’ College will be provided with counselling and psychosocial assistance after a shooting close to the school on January 21 left one man dead and two injured.
In a release on the same day, the ministry said the school implemented a temporary lockdown immediately after the incident to ensure the safety of all students and staff.
“Coordination with the police service and local authorities resulted in early dismissal. Students were safely released to their parents, guardians, and authorised school transport. The ministry confirms that all students and staff are safe.
