PARENTS of San Fernando West Secondary School are growing increasingly concerned about the safety of their children after recent incidents and threats of gang-related activity near the school’s compound.
On Wednesday afternoon, the school was placed under a “lockdown” after a group of young men, allegedly affiliated with a gang, were armed with knives and a firearm waiting on the perimeter of the school.
The “gang members” were allegedly prepared for a reprisal of fights that occurred the previous day in the school that were defused by security officers, teachers and other staff.
