Brain tumour patient needs $1.4M for further treatment in India

(Kaieteur News) – A successful surgery was recently performed in India on 34-year-old Omar King Charles, who was diagnosed with a meningioma, a tumour that develops in the meninges—the protective layers surrounding the brain and spinal cord.
However, the ‘A’ Field, Sophia, Georgetown resident is not yet in the clear and is now in urgent need of additional funding for further treatment while he remains in India.
His wife, 33-year-old Melissa Vaughn Charles, told Kaieteur News that the family needs at least $1.4 million to cover the cost of a second procedure.
