(Kaieteur News) – The US$50 million Chateau Margot Mall and Lifestyle Centre, being developed by the ANSA McAL Group and its affiliates along the East Coast Demerara corridor, is now 55% complete, with construction progressing towards a scheduled 2027 opening.
One year after the official sod-turning ceremony, structural works are well advanced across the site, which is expected to become a major retail, dining and lifestyle destination, ANSA McAL said in a press release on Wednesday. Located approximately 15 kilometres from central Georgetown, beside the historic Chateau Margot Chimney, the development will comprise approximately 120,000 square feet of space for retail outlets, restaurants and service providers. The project is also creating hundreds of construction and permanent employment opportunities.
Joseph Rahael, Sector Head of Real Estate at ANSA McAL Limited, described reaching the halfway mark as a proud moment for everyone involved in the development. “Every stage, from feasibility and design to construction, has been about delivering a space that works for tenants, for shoppers and for the communities around it. We are building something that will serve the East Coast for decades to come,” Rahael said.
