A 42-year-old man was shot dead in Santa Cruz on Thursday night, days after a dispute reportedly turned hostile.

The deceased has been identified as Lyndon Gibson of Cantaro Village, Santa Cruz.

Police said around 10:05 p.m., officers from the Santa Cruz Police Station responded to reports of gunfire along Lynch Avenue, off Pipiol Road. On arrival, they were told that a series of loud explosions had been heard moments earlier. When the noise subsided, residents discovered Gibson lying in the roadway with several gunshot wounds.
