(Kaieteur News) – The Guyana Geology and Mines Commission (GGMC) is reminding mining stakeholders of their obligations, warning miners and shop operators that failure to produce valid licences, permits and other required documents during inspections could result in the immediate suspension of their operations.
The GGMC notice, issued on Tuesday, comes ahead of the licence renewal period in January 2027.
“All miners are strongly advised to ensure that their production records and gold sales documentation are complete, accurate and up to date. Failure to satisfy the applicable requirements may affect the processing and renewal of licences and other authorisations,” the Commission said.
