A Morvant man is recovering after he was beaten, stabbed and robbed by a group of men, including two he knows, inside an Independence Square restaurant on Friday night.

Police said 35-year-old Sherwin Debydeen, of Morvant, was attacked around 9.30 p.m. shortly after entering Mr. Feng’s Chinese Restaurant to buy food.

Debydeen told officers he felt a blow to the back of his head as he stepped inside, causing him to fall. He said four men then set upon him with bottles and chairs from inside the restaurant.
