Demerara Bank Limited has officially launched its new digital banking platform, giving customers access to a range of services from the convenience of their mobile devices. The application allows customers to transfer funds to other Demerara Bank accounts, make transfers to other local banks, and request SWIFT payments, among other features. The platform will also allow users to pay bills, with major utility companies available through the app.
The bank stated that customers can also apply for various products and services through the platform, including new home or vehicle loans and credit cards.
The bank hosted a launching event at its Beterverwagting, East Coast Demerara (ECD) Branch on Saturday during which the public was sensitised about the new platform. Speaking with the Guyana Times, Business Development Manager, Farah Hosain explained the reason behind the initiative and outlined how customers can access the new platform. According to Hosain, Android users can download the app from the Google Play Store, while iOS users can access it through the App Store. She explained that once the app is downloaded, customers can complete a simple self-registration process by creating their own username and password, allowing them to access their banking services directly from their mobile devices. The bank noted that its digital banking platform will enable customers to check their account balances, download statements, view transaction histories, and transfer funds between their own accounts.
