Hunters who pull the trigger after yesterday could face a staggering $100,000 fine, as the 2025–2026 Hunting Season officially comes to an end.
In a reminder to the public, the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries confirmed that all hunting activity on public and private lands ceased yesterday, Saturday, February 28, 2026, with the season formally closing today, Sunday, March 1.
The warning comes amid continued national efforts to protect wildlife populations and preserve Trinidad and Tobago’s fragile ecological balance. Officials said the closed season is critical to allow species to recover and ensure long-term sustainability of the country’s natural resources.
