Construction of a new roundabout in the vicinity of the Timehri Police Station is set to commence shortly, the Public Works Ministry has announced.
The Ministry said on Wednesday the works will affect motorists, businesses, residents, and commuters using the Timehri Junction, with traffic management measures put in place to minimise disruptions and maintain safety during construction.
Ahead of the project, the Ministry conducted a public consultation involving 44 stakeholders within the project area. These included seven major institutions, the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA), Laparkan, the Guyana Prison Service, the Guyana Fire Service, the Guyana Defence Force (GDF), Marriott and Phoenix LTB.
