A WOMAN who was arrested at a tattoo shop when she was 15 years old, and had the charge of possession of marijuana dismissed against her, has been awarded by the court for false imprisonment and malicious prosecution.
Shakira Bachan sued the State and Justice Christopher Sieuchand ordered on September 5 that she be compensated more than $100,000.
It was on August 7, 2017, that Bachan of Arima went to a tattoo shop in Claxton Bay with two female cousins. They met the tattoo artist and another person who said they were going to the supermarket.
