Adrian Peter Duff, the 35-year-old man who was found dead by police almost two days after he dialled 999 and begged the police to save him, was strangled and stabbed, an autopsy found.
The post mortem, conducted on Monday at the Forensic Science Centre in Federation Park, concluded Duff he died of ligature strangulation (a form of asphyxial death caused by constriction of the neck using a cord, rope, wire, or similar object). He was also stabbed about the body.
Last week Wednesday, Duff’s body was found at the Caroni River, off Esperanza Road, Las Lomas No 3. Investigators say the body was discovered approximately two metres off the western bank of the river.
