A little more than a month away from the 2025 general election, the political battleground of San Fernando West is in play, with possibly four candidates looking to represent a southern constituency which they say is in dire need of something different.

Among the hopefuls are the People’s National Movement’s Faris Al-Rawi, United National Congress (UNC) candidate and former Naparima College principal Dr Michael Dowlath, and National Transformation Alliance (NTA) candidate and medical professional Dr Kevin Sarran.
