The Ministry of Trade and Industry has announced a reduction in the rate of duty on Other Hydraulic Cements to 0%, following a series of price increases by Trinidad Cement Limited (TCL).
This decision comes in response to market monitoring and the recent 7% increase in cement prices by TCL, the fifth such increase since 2021. The Ministry noted that cement is a critical component in both the manufacturing and construction sectors and emphasized the importance of maintaining affordable cement prices for consumers.
