The Government will be bringing legislation to Parliament to implement “zones of special operations” following the expiration of the state of emergency (SoE) on January 31.
This was announced yesterday by Attorney General John Jeremie at a news conference held by the United National Congress (UNC) at its Chaguanas headquarters.
There is precedent for this move in Jamaica, which enacted Zones of Special Operations (ZOSO) under The Law Reform (Zones of Special Operations) Act, 2017.
