A 39-year-old Point Fortin man is expected to face multiple charges after he allegedly assaulted a police officer while being processed following a suspected drunk-driving incident early Saturday morning.
Police said the incident began around 3.05 a.m., when officers attached to the High Performance Patrol and Response Team South Western Division responded to a report of a road traffic accident along Main Road, Point Fortin, near Bright Ideas.
According to police reports, WPC Cobham-Grant and PC Blaize arrived at the scene and met the driver of a gold Nissan Tiida, of Warden Road, Point Fortin.
