(Kaieteur News) – A 28-year-old Essequibo man, identified as Kelton Benn, died after being electrocuted by a wire connected to a chicken pen.
Police said in a statement that the incident occurred on Monday at around 17:30 hrs. at Ptolemy Avenue, Dartmouth Village, Essequibo Coast.
“Preliminary enquiries revealed that Benn had gone to use an outdoor toilet situated at the back of the yard. After he failed to return, a relative went in search of him and found him lying motionless next to a chicken coop,” police said.
