“Do not let my aunt die in vain.”
That was the emotional plea of United National Congress (UNC) Government Senator Brain Baig in the Senate yesterday, as he recounted the brutal murder of his aunt while debating the stand your ground legislation.
Baig’s aunt, 68-year-old Amina Mohammed, was killed last December at her home in Lisas Gardens, Couva. After bandits robbed her of money and jewelry, she was stabbed in the throat and left to die.
