Baramita man fined $2M, jailed for 12 months for cocaine trafficking

(Kaieteur News) – Kevin Bess called ‘Generator Man’, age 63, a mechanic of Barama Line, Baramita, North West District, has been charged with two counts of Possession of Narcotics for the Purpose of Trafficking, in relation to 1,180.7 grams of cannabis and 23.1 grams of cocaine found in his possession on August 29, 2026, at Warapa, Baramita, North West District.

Bess appeared today, Monday, August 31, 2026, via Zoom, at the Port Kaituma Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Robindranauth Singh, where the charges were read to him separately.

He pleaded guilty to both charges and was sentenced to twelve (12) months’ imprisonment on each charge, to run concurrently.
