Alexander: Interpol screening migrants

Minister of Homeland Security Roger Alexander says the United States’ Interpol bureau is assisting Trinidad and Tobago with security screening of more than 24,000 migrants who have gone through the country’s registration process.

He said this was being done as the Government intensifies background checks before issuing migrant registration cards.

In a telephone interview with the Express yesterday, Alexander said the distribution of registration cards was projected to begin sometime next month.
