A 67-year-old San­ta Cruz man has been ar­rest­ed af­ter po­lice seized a home­made shot­gun and am­mu­ni­tion dur­ing an an­ti-crime ex­er­cise con­duct­ed in the North-East­ern Di­vi­sion.

Ac­cord­ing to a me­dia re­lease is­sued yes­ter­day, of­fi­cers car­ried out the op­er­a­tion on Tues­day be­tween 4 pm and 9 pm as part of on­go­ing ef­forts to tar­get il­le­gal firearms and crim­i­nal ac­tiv­i­ty in the area.

At ap­prox­i­mate­ly 5.50 pm, of­fi­cers at­tached to the West­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force went to the sus­pect’s res­i­dence along Sad­dle Road, Low­er San­ta Cruz, where they con­duct­ed a search of the premis­es.
