World javelin champion Keshorn Walcott and 400m silver medallist Jereem Richards yesterday called for deeper investment in track and field.

The call came even as Minister of Sport Phillip Watts pledged support and hailed their feats as proof that Trinidad and Tobago can still shine on the world stage.

T&T sent a four-member team to the World Championships in Tokyo, Japan, and the contingent was greeted by fans and Government officials during an official welcome party at Piarco International Airport yesterday.
