NWA approves concrete pavement for Seaview Drive in Lucea

HANOVER, Jamaica — Motorists travelling in and out of Lucea, Hanover, are set to benefit from improvements to Seaview Drive, following the signing of a $39-million contract by the National Works Agency (NWA) to rehabilitate a section of the roadway.

Seaview Drive serves as a major corridor into Lucea for motorists travelling from the direction of Montego Bay, St James. The roadway has long been a source of frustration for commuters due to its low-lying location near the coastline, which makes it prone to flooding during periods of heavy rainfall and high wave activity.

Community Relations Officer for the NWA’s Western Region, Janel Ricketts, said work is scheduled to begin on Monday, October 5, 2026.
