Morgan endorses new $39-m concrete road for Lucea

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Minister with responsibility for Works, Robert Morgan, says the newly approved $39 million Seaview Drive rehabilitation is expected to alleviate intense traffic delays which can stretch up to two hours.

Noting that the delays disrupt daily commuting and commercial activity and place passengers travelling to the airport at risk of missing their flights, Morgan said reliable access through Lucea is essential to residents and to the tourism economy of western Jamaica.

The National Works Agency (NWA) has signed a contract to rehabilitate approximately 200 metres of Seaview Drive between the G V Service Station and D&G Hardware. The works will introduce an eight-inch-thick rigid concrete pavement in place of the asphalt concrete surface previously used.
