KINGSTON, Jamaica — The People’s National Party (PNP) is mourning the passing of former Member of Parliament for St James West Central, Arthur Nelson, describing him as a devoted public servant whose quiet dignity and genuine commitment to his constituents left a lasting mark on public life.
Nelson died at the age of 91 after what the PNP described as a life dedicated to his profession, his party and his country.
The PNP said Nelson, a professional engineer by training, brought rigour, integrity and practical good sense to his parliamentary service. He represented St James West Central after winning consecutive general elections in 1993 and 1997.
