A medical attendant employed at the San Fernando General Hospital who restrained a man on the rooftop of a building at the hospital is being described as a hero by some after preventing what people believe could have been a dangerous situation.

Video footage circulating on social media showed the moment when medical attendant Peter Garcia intervened on January 28 and held onto the man and got him off the rooftop.

Hospital officials have not said whether the man was under any threat, but have expressed their appreciation to Garcia, security services personnel and other staff members who helped to secure and remove the man from the unauthorised area.
