A penal family of four was robbed by four masked men, all armed with cutlasses, during a home invasion on Sunday.

According to police, Sherry Sooknanan, 31, Rishi Sooknanan, 38, Puja Sooknanan, 12, and Helen Sookraj, 62, were all asleep at their Congo Trace, Penal Rock Road, Penal home when at around 4.10 a.m., the four suspects entered the home by removing a piece of ply which was covering an open space on the northern side of the house.

One of the suspects pulled Rishi Sooknanan off his bed stating “I come to kill you, struck him several times, before taking a Stihl FS 85 grass trimmer valued at $4,000.00 and exiting the home through the point of entry.
