Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Wayne Mystar is warning citizens to be more careful when conducting private vehicle sales after a recent tragedy involving a man who was murdered after leaving his home to purchase a second-hand vehicle.
According to a release, ACP Mystar spoke at the Central Division town meeting in Gran Couva on July 14, which was convened to address growing concerns about criminal activity in the region, particularly involving online vehicle sales and informal transactions that have led to robberies and in some cases, loss of life.
Mystar emphasised that while the convenience of buying used vehicles privately has increased with online platforms, so too has the danger associated with unregulated transactions.
