(Kaieteur News) – A vendor is now in police custody after a search was conducted and approximately four pounds of marijuana was found on Tuesday at Ruimveldt Public Road, in the vicinity of Massy Supermarket.

In a statement on Wednesday, police said an investigation has been launched into the matter.

“Ranks, acting on information, carried out an intelligence-led operation in the area where they contacted a 28-year-old male vendor of River View, Ruimveldt. During the exercise, a search was conducted, and one black plastic bag containing a quantity of suspected narcotics was found,” police said.
