Motorists confused by the recent increases in late-fee penalties for driver’s licence renewals can now find clarity at licensing offices. Transport and Civil Aviation Minister Eli Zakour confirmed yesterday that all offices now display updated signs.
During a post-Cabinet media briefing on Thursday, Zakour stated that updated signs were being installed to reflect the adjusted fees and taxes, addressing confusion among motorists who had been incorrectly charged due to system errors.
However, when Guardian Media visited the Licensing Office, Wrightson Road, Port-of-Spain branch yesterday, there were no updated signs. There were, however, a few signs that reflected old fees for motorists, causing confusion about the late penalties according to the law.
