Less than 24 hours afÂter moÂtorists were shocked to learn of new late penalÂties for driÂver’s perÂmit reÂnewals, ofÂfiÂcials now adÂmit MonÂday’s figÂures were a misÂtake, and the acÂtuÂal fees are even highÂer.
AcÂcordÂing to TransÂport ComÂmisÂsionÂer Clive Clarke, perÂmits that exÂpired for six months or less now carÂry a late fee of $650, up from the $600 that was charged on MonÂday.
PerÂmits that exÂpired for more than six months and up to three years carÂry a late penalÂty of $1,750 inÂstead of $1,000.
