EMERGENCY medical responders were dispatched to the Moruga Secondary School and air quality testing done following a hydrocarbon leak near the school.
Minister of Education Dr Michael Dowlath told the Express five students and 20 teachers complained of nausea, headaches, skin irritations, burning eyes and stomach pains, and the school was dismissed early for three days, over the past two weeks.
Heritage Petroleum Company Ltd provided a nurse and fans at the school following the leak. The company said the source of the leak has since been clamped and the site restored.
