ONE of the men who was seriously injured after he and two others ambushed and shot a prison officer last Friday died as a result of injuries received when he was thrown out of a car.
Police confirmed Jessie Belfon died Wednesday night.
Police said Belfon and two other men staged the ambush around 8.25 p.m. on June 20 while prison officer Govindra Balgobin was seated in his car along Orange Grove Road, at the Piarco intersection. He had just left work and was heading to his home in Barrackpore.
