Pres­i­dent Chris­tine Kan­ga­loo has de­scribed Eid-ul-Fitr as a pe­ri­od of “grat­i­tude, gen­eros­i­ty, re­new­al, and deep spir­i­tu­al re­flec­tion.”

In a state­ment mark­ing the fes­ti­val, she not­ed that Eid sig­ni­fies the end of a pe­ri­od of sac­ri­fice and de­vo­tion while en­cour­ag­ing re­newed com­mit­ment to com­pas­sion, dis­ci­pline, and ser­vice to oth­ers.

“Our na­tion is of­ten de­scribed as a ‘rain­bow peo­ple,’ a so­ci­ety in which di­ver­si­ty is not mere­ly tol­er­at­ed, but em­braced and cel­e­brat­ed,” the Pres­i­dent said.
