Election observer missions from Caricom and the Commonwealth are set to arrive in Trinidad and Tobago one week before the April 28 general election to begin their monitoring work.
Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar called for information on the status of the election observers on Thursday at a United National Congress (UNC) meeting in Couva.
The Ministry of Foreign and Caricom Affairs yesterday issued a release providing information and indicating that the Caricom and Commonwealth missions will remain in T&T until April 30, overseeing the electoral process and offering post-election recommendations.
